I am also looking for tips on installing push tubes instead of control cables.

Can you help?

Sir:

It is my understanding that you are using push tubes for the control surfaces instead of control cables. If so, I am looking for information as to how to do the same.

Congrats on your upcoming flight. YES! I love my push control rods. and now that I have my upgrades just about complete and reading the latest from Zenith and FAA, I am very happy to have the pushrods. Let me kow how you like them.. Mine were a little heavy (but very positive) feeling.

David: We are building a 650 and stalled waiting for upgrades. As long as we have to reopen the wings, we want to put push rods and counterweights in instead of aileron cables and would really like to see how you did it. The Waiex I built had push rods, so I am familiar with the installation and believe this is the way to go. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

HI DAVID I CAME ACROSS YOUR WEB WHERE YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT FLYING TO NY, AND ABOUT THE PUSH RODS. I BELIEVE WHAT STEVE WESTON STATED. PUSH RODS ARE THE WAY TO GO. IF YOU COULD STAND ONE MORE REQUEST FOR INFOR. ON YOUR INSTALLATION I WOULD APPREC IT. I LIVE IN PANAMA CITY,FIRST FLIGHT WAS OCT 8TH. HAVE 10 HRS. DON'T LIKE THE CABLE AILERON.
THANKS GENE MAYO

Hello Col, I like the way you secure your wing lockers. I'm doing my first wing locker now and was curious what type of latch/lock you used. I found a pretty nice one from West Marine but the actual "catch" would have to be placed about and inch down inside the locker.

Thanks,
Jeff Webb

David... I believe that you stated (in a video) that you had discussed with Zenith and had installed aileron push/pull tubes instead of the standard cables. If you have any info or pictures of that installation I would really appreciate reviewing them... Thanks, Jerry Duncan (gfduncan@cox.net)
