Paul... I liked the roller blade wheel idea myself. I did not look inside to see if there was any backer plates. The first take-off with 2 on board my CH601HD I over rotated (with 2 the load is towards the read of the CofG) and "banged" the tail tie-down on the paved runway...scared the crap out of me as I already airborne. Thinking about rudder horns and cables I did a quick loop and landed to check for damage...none. :>)

    Hi Paul,
    Welcome to the club.
We are into fall harvest now but in Western Canada it has been a wet and cool summer.
I should let you know that my 750 is finished and I'm enjoying the flying now. You might have seen my plane in the Zenair info, it's the 750 with the wheat and mint leaf motif.
I chose the Rotax 912ULS and so far I'm happy with that choice. I also added an Airmaster constant speed hub with 70" dia.WarpDrive three bladed prop. I felt that with just 100 HP and a 2640' altitude at my airstrip that the constant speed unit might squeeze a bit more performance out of the engine.
I only built parts of my airplane with most of the critical construction done by Mark Townsend ( an experienced Zenith builder) nearly 2000 miles from my home . Regards Lynn

    Hi Lynn,
Congrats on getting the aircraft flying. I am fornutae in that there are not that many places in Aust where the Density Altitude goes high. I am partial to putting the Rotax combination that you have in my aircraft. Basically I have not heard of anyone having problems with a Rotax . They are economical, reliable and relatively cheap to run. What sort of numbers are you getting with the Rotax? I have heard about cooling problems have you heard or experienced anything untoward?

Once I sort out what is happening logistically I will get the kits ordered so I can the bird in the air.
It is wet here at the moment, floods further south; the promise of things to come as we get more into summer.

    Have a good one Matey
    Paul
