Best way to recover from this mistake

Working on mounting my horizontal stab on a 750 STOL. Drilling out 75F2-5 Horizontal tail attachment gussets that I had to fabricate as the supplied predrilled ones had the pilot holes in the wrong spots. Long story short, I inadvertently drilled into 75F2-4, the horizontal tail frame in the fuselage right at its bend. I drilled the frame’s rivets out, removed it, and ordered a new one that arrived today. The problem is, I still need to put a rivet in that spot where there’s a hole in the skin.…See More

Are A-6 rivets domed like the A-4 and A-5?

Working on my 750 STOL wings and it’s the first piece with a few A-6 rivets. I bought my pneumatic and hand rivet pullers from Zenith and they have the modified nose pieces that dome the rivet heads for A-4 and A-5 rivets, but nothing for A-6. Do I need to make/order a domed puller for the A-6 rivets, or do I pull them with the flat nose? I’m sure this is answered somewhere already, but I couldn’t pull up anything with a search. Air conditioning

So, I’m sure this is a bit out there, but anyone fit an air conditioning system onto a Viking powered aircraft?  I’ll be flying out of Phoenix, AZ, and was pondering the possibility of running an A/C system for those hot summer days before getting to altitude. Something very simple on/off, and not used during critical flight phase like takeoff and landing. Maybe components from a Honda car, or something the classic car guys add to their hot rods? Just at the spitballing stage. See More
