0-200 cont. 2008 AMD 601 xl Zodiak

Engine has aircraft type spark plugs on cylinder bottom and auto plugs on top.Was this done for tight clearance with top nacelle? How does this affect performance? Thanks Barry

You are correct as to the clearance question. The only 601 I have flown was an AMD product so I cannot compare two types of plugs. However, I doubt that it makes any difference in performance.
