Help! I'm trying to get my 650 canopy to sit right on the hoops & side frames. I followed the builder's guide as far as placing the rear hoop... "in line" with the seat backs, then trimmed the hoop ends until everything sat on the roll-bar cradle... but it appears that it is way too tall. The canopy sides barely drop to the bottom edge of the side frames, and the rear of the canopy sits about 2" higher than the top of the rear bulkhead.

I believe my hoops are about 2" too tall. Does anyone have a perpindicular height from the baggage deck to the top of the rear hoop?

Brian, this may or may not apply (I'm a 601 plans builder) but I think the hoops are meant to be a little long, then trimmed because while it's easy enough to trim a little off, it's awfully hard to make them get longer to make up for variations in the plexi.

Yes Dan, the builder's photo guide shows that the hoops are trimmed to fit, and my rear hoop had about 3" trimmed off each side in order to sit in the roll-bar flange, with the hoop at the correct angle (straight line with the seat back). The problem is that the canopy will not sit low enough. When it is touching the rear hoop, it is still 2" above the rear top skin, and the sides are not at or below the side rails.
What I'd like to know is approximately how high above the longerons the hoop is, in a finished installation. This would give me a better understanding of what is going on.
