I have a 701 which has the water radiator outside the cowls and fitted to the fuselage
behind the front wheel and is naturally causing drag and is in danger of getting
damaged. however to fit the rad inside I would have to have a different shape
of rad as the standard shape is too wide to fit the cowl even after modifying it.
Just wondered if anybody has had a similar problem and if so what was your
solution??

Hi Brian,
I've had the same type of problem and found a shop in the lower USA that fabricated my rad per specs.
I told them what I had engine wise (1800cc - 105hp) and the type of use I did (high revolution/low speed) and told them the general dimension to fit my cowl. They make rad for dragsters, race cars and dune buggies. They submitted a few ideas and we agreed on a particular design. I have 59 hours on my 701 and never had overheating problem related to the radiator.
Made of 6061-t6 with everything I wanted, where I wanted it. Price was very reasonable and service was top notch.
I had it done by TCP Performance ...Told him it was for a dune buggy !
Has worked beautifully so far.
Regards,
Norm
