750 STOL 912ULS Ring Mount

I was reading in the ZAC website the following...

"Zenair does NOT offer a FWF Package for a "Ring-Mount" system for the Rotax 912UL/ULS in the CH 650/750. The engine mount for the Rotax 914 and 912iS (designed for a ring-mount system) can be purchased separately, but components (cowling, muffler, etc.) from the 912UL/ULS FWF Pkg. will NOT be compatible."

Has anyone used the ring mount on the 912ULS on a 750 STOL? What issues did you run into and how did you resolve them?

Also, what's the benefit to the ring mount anyway?
