Build the rear section of fuselage, then build the front section. Once completed the two sections will slide together (you trim the side channel extruded "L" to length) and cleco together. The front section of the fuslage can be assembled with out the firewall attached. Then install the steel tube cockpit cage, there are sliver cleco holes to line up with the rear and front fuselage. The whole process on a CH750 is about 30 minutes (2 set of hands help).... this process is about 2 - 3 days on a CH701 kit. Check out the "Bob's CH750 build @ Can-Zac" photo album on my page this site. The entire fuselage was built in a single 18 hr day of rivets & coffee...donuts for additional boost of energy. Watch the clock on the wall of the shop...started at 8 AM.

Leo, the side channel you are refering to you can drill out to final size, cleco in place, but just do not rivet yet. You will rivet it up after the foward & rear fuse are connected. There are a couple of ways to deal with the L extrusion. Edition 1, by the book, you cut it to fit. However, with the Ed. 1/Rev. 1 changes you do not have to cut it, it can run wild straight thru 75F3-4. If you are not clear on this, I suggest you call Zenith for advice.

Re: 18 hr fuse: Gee wiz, I'm proud to say my fuselage was built in a single 1/2 year. Just watch the calender on the wall.

Hi Jimmy,

 

Thanks for the post. I already trimmed the extrusion and it fits fine once I figured out the orientation of the part it was no problem.It looks like you are a couple of steps ahead of me so I might just llok for more help from you as I am a very novice builder but learning fast.

 

I will post some pics in the next couple of days

hey thanks Bob,

 

It seems as though my fuselage has no end to it...but when done it will be worth it...Every thing is primed and riveted and ready to be slid together.

Doug Macdonald  showed me the plans you sent him for the skis....looks great maybe a project for next year with the floats.
