Canadian tire artificial steel wool is it the same as scotch brite
But made in China. Is it just as good?

There was some discussion in the past about the composition of some of the abrasive pads but I don't remember the details so someone hopefully will have more information, but the gist of it was that some of the pads were made with some component of iron, maybe iron oxide which when used could impregnate into the aluminum and then the iron would rust. As I said I don't remember all the details but I stick with scotchbrite. Dan.

In the construction standards I believe it is listed the proper model number of Scotchbrite pads. Stick with the suggestion. Dan is correct in his statement. This particular pad utilized an aluminum oxide for abrasion and others use steel/iron. You could possibly introduce surface corrosion to your metal by using anything else.
