Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
I am looking to add amhibious floats to my CH-801. Looking for either:
- a set of CH-801 amphibious floats, full or partially assembled or kit
- a set of CH-801 straight floats, kit or partially built (I will make conversion parts)
- a set of plans for CH-801 amphibious floats
- a set of other make of amphib floats suitable for a CH-801
Thanks
Sam

Sam, I am currently working on a set of amphibs, I think they used to belong to Jeff Fortune, a member of this website. They were used in the Bahamas, in salt water, so they did have some corrosion. I did have to remove the keels, and polish all of the corrosion out with a wire brush, and treat. It looks like the salt water got in between the keel and the hull, and started the corrosion. I have actually patched a piece of .020 6061-T6 full length, between the keel and the hull, and am in the process of preparation for re sealing, and installing the keels back on, using the float type of pop rivets with the stainless steel shanks from Zenair. Hope this works for us. We had to look for quite a while, doesn't seem to be too many 801's on floats, only one I know of is Bill in Wilcox Alaska. He is on full lotus floats, I think.
