Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
I will be removing the corvair from my 750 and replacing it with a rotax next week. The corvair has 55 hours on the bottom end and 1 hour on the top end. I started the engine and flew the pattern today (7-16-16) to put an hour +- on the engine after head and cylinder work. The engine wasn't pushed to hard since this flight is part of the break-in period. I posted a few short videos on my Zenith page.
Engine 2700 +.030
Weseman 5th bearing
Nitride and tapped crankshaft -.010
forged pistons
new OT-10 cam
MA3-SPA carb (has acc. pump) fresh rebuild
WW's hub, top cover, starter gear, ring gear flex plate, maybe some other stuff
E/P distributor w/4 deg offset
Large oil cooler
Stainless exhaust
John Deere type alternator
engine mount fits 750 (could be modified to fit 601)
cowl fits 750/601
Warp drive prop with 66" and 68 " nickle edged blades.
I built this engine using ww's book and writings for guidence. It has been a very good learning experience.
The engine will be on the airframe for a few more days.
Price: Make reasonable offer. Might consider trading for something.
Been asked, "why you removing the corvair"? Philosiphy change more than anything I guess. That and I am at a point where a new engine will fit my budget.
