Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
hello Builders,
Recently the Starting Capacitor blew on my dear old air compressor. unfortunately, the Capacitor, Mepco/Electra, used a ‘paper’ specification label, and it has been mostly worn off.
After calling TEMCO, I have been informed that without the nameplate information on the capacitor, they cannot recommend a replacement. Specifically the MFD information.
Hail Mary -
if anyone has an air compressor w a 220V GE motor (model C-MO-3003 / 5KCR48SR41W), I would love to know what your 5HP-1Ph starting capacitor says. This is a $20 part which is stalling me out.
Thanks in advance.

Geo,
I would imagine the start cap. would be under 200uf at 300v. But there are capacitor formulas available on the web to calculate the exact uf.
good luck
Glenn
I needed a part for a GE motor a few years ago and was able to make contact with someone at GE who fixed me up. You could try contacting them: https://www.gepowerconversion.com/sales-contact
You would probably get a faster response from a local electric motor repair shop. It looks like you are in Utah. A quick google turned up this shop: https://www.yellowpages.com/sandy-ut/mip/dannys-electric-motors-190... There are other electric motor shops listed on the yellowpages website.
Hope you get it fixed.
