I'm wondering if anyone has made their own fuel tank outlet finger screens. The regular ones appear to be nothing more than some brass mesh rolled into a cylinder that is then soldered into a NPT reduction fitting, and I could eliminate several other fittings in my fuel system if the finger screen was on something other than a reduction fitting... I don't want to be breaking new ground with my fuel system, but if this is something that people do regularly without it causing problems, that would be great to know. Thanks!

In one of his three seminal books (I forget which) Tony Bingelis covers the topic of making your own finger screen. The books are available in the EAA bookstore.

Excellent - thanks, Ken. I should probably buy them all anyway.
