Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
I'm considering a UL520 Turbo for my 750SD. I've searched this site but could only find older threads about the topic and technology changes with time.
I would appreciate any comments with respect to having 1 ECU vs 2 ECU's.

Hi Bob, I happen to have a dual ECU setup with my 350iS. My ECUs are the old style black boxes. It certainly makes things a bit more challenging to run the additional cable and wires through the firewall and adds more complexity to your electrical system and swtiches on the panel. I did have an ECU fault light once while in flight, I believe it was related to a sensor, but once on the ground after recycling the ECU the fault light cleared and never returned. I do have a greater sense of confidence with dual ECUs when I am over remote hostile terrain, but having said that, the new ECUs (red box) are likely even more robust than the originals and appear easier to connect and wire up, I would likely go with a single ECU if installing another UL engine. Less money, less complexity. That's my 2 cents...
Cheers and good luck with your decision!
