The install manual shows that a fault indicator light should be installed on the panel to light up if the ECU detects certain faults.  The manual says that it will light up for a couple of seconds upon power up of the ECU, then go out until a fault is detected.

I am confused as to how to wire the light with the leads from the ECU bundled in the yellow shrink tube. No combination I have tried yet seems to work.

Any help you can offer is appreciated.

Perry, I did a quick "look see" at the install manual for the new style ECU.  Looks like the White/White lead should run to a panel mounted LED/circuit to advise you of any of the listed issues with the sensors.  Once you get wired up with that circuit, maybe you can pull the connector at the sensor to test the LED circuit and function.  Hope I'm not telling you what you already know ;)  If so, keep asking!

Good luck, let us know how it goes!

Dave

David, I talked to Ray and he said the White/White lead goes to the (-) side of the LED and the (+) side of the LED gets connected to 12V power.  I did that and when I disconnected the throttle position sensor it lit up!

Now I need to find something else to worry about.

Good news Perry!  Thanks for posting the positive results!  It's good to worry (a little bit) when doing this sort of stuff ;)  Good luck with the project!
