Last week while looking on eBay I came across a flap actuator off of another aircraft. It looked to be the right size and actuates very simular to other aftermarket actuators id seen installed on other 701's. I purchased it and recieved it yesterday. To my suprise its almost perfect for the 701 application. Ill have to modify the tab (lower it) where the flap control tube mounts to it but feel this is going to be a perfect setup. If anyone is interested id be willing to send photos and info on the setup. It looks to be simple to construct and I plan to make templates of all the parts when I dismantle it for inspection. Ill post pictures and the original manufacture so someone can use it if they would like one. It looks to have very simular throw to the original factory setup between neutral and the first notch position. It does have one aditional notch. When I calculate the degrees of flap this set up will provide ill post the figures. I dont feel the 701 needs more flaps then provided but feel the stock actuator leaves room for improvement. I may remake the side plates to only provide the stock degree setting. It has a nice push button on top and good stops on both sides.
