It is with a heavy heart that I list my 650 for sale; but, our 601 is now finished and one has to go! For details and pictures, look on Barnstormers website. Shayne McDaniel

Just looked at it, beautiful plane. How did you like the Corvair conversion?
The 650 has a Corvair engine and we liked it enough to put another Corvair in the 601 we just completed. You may not realize it; but, the Corvair car engine was rated at over 150hp at 5000rpm. We are running it at 3000rpm and getting about 105hp. So, the engine is not being overworked and we are not running it anywhere close to the temps it is capable of. Plus, we can get all the parts here in the States, sometimes locally, at 1/10th the price of any of the production aircraft engines and much less than the Rotax/Jabiru, etc. If you have any other questions, I would be glad to help. Thanks! I looked long and hard at the Corvair, but then I got a O-235 for a great price and couldn't pass it up. I was also really interested in the Viking, but it was too "new" for my taste. Now it's looking like a great engine. Maybe on my next build! ;)
