Built in Arizona by Marv Vanderpool, winner of at least two best-of-show aircraft--he built a Lancair before this one, according to Mrs. Vanderpool, from whom I purchased the airplane. 60 hrs TT. Dual-stick option, Edition 3 nosegear fork, steam gauges, Mode C, Icom com. Continental-Mattituck IO-240 125hp, fuel-injected engine--this may be the only one with this engine. Unpainted. I was looking for a Highlander when I found this aircraft, and I thought “I’m never going to find another one like this.” So I bought it on the spot. I’ve now just bought a Highlander. My wife can’t afford two planes, so this beautifully ugly STOL has got to go (whimper).
