I'm building a free, community-centric site of builder logs, with a focus on connecting you to useful posts related to what you're working on while you're working on it. e.g. When posting about your Zenith 750 vertical fin, you'll see a tip that was voted helpful by others suggesting you shorten a particular rivet for a better fit.

It will simultaneously be a collection of builders logs and a community-driven knowledgebase for every part of every aircraft kit.

I'm over-simplifying so please check out the description here: https://webuildplanes.com

I'd like to gauge the amount of interest in this idea before I get too deep into it. If this sounds like something you'd use, PLEASE sign up (no commitment or anything - I just want to measure interest). Or if you have any feedback, please send it my way!

Hi Mark

Suggestion: Maybe create a section similar to that listed by Vans Aircraft builders called "Gotchas" where plan errors and building mistakes are found which can be alerted to Zenith Builders by adding details to a common list summary by a person stating the part a description  of the error found and the solution used.

I will be building my Cruzer using Dynon HDX and want to install Pitch & Roll Dynon Servo's for activation of Autopilot but there is no details in the plans on how to do this so maybe some details (sketch photos etc) can be added by someone who has achieved this safely.for the use of other builders.

That's a great idea. Thanks!

Do you plan to have a phone app interface?  Most of the time, we are in the workshop with phone in hand. With the older builder log, I then had to upload photos to the computer, log into the log and then upload photos to it.  I would love to be able to create entries in real time, while working.

Yep, you'll definitely be able to create entries from your phone, through the site!

The site makes it easy to upload from the phone. The site tells your phone it wants a photo, and it's up to your phone to decide how to handle it. All modern phones that I've tested with prompt you to either take a new photo or select one from your gallery.

I threw together a very simple example to illustrate or if you want to test how your phone/tablet will behave: https://webuildplanes.com/upload-example.html

There won't be an app, at least initially, but the site is designed to work on both mobile and desktop ("responsive" design). If people still want an app after using the site, I can definitely make one, but I suspect nobody will feel the need for one.
