I bought a used certified Gamin 327 transponder for my 601. I m now ready to wire the inputs. I have a copy of the instillation manual, but I have a few questions I hope I can find answers here. All I want is for the transponder to work, not hooked up to anything else. I plan at a later date to install an ADS B system that does not need to be wired directly to my transponder.
According to the instructions the rear connector has a J3271 plug. The top, looking at the rear, is numbered 1-13 0n top and 14-25 on the bottom.
Pin 1- Avionics Master on ?
Pin 13- Power Ground
Pin 14- Switched power output
Pin 16- external stand by ?
Pin 24- 14 VDC Panel lighting
Pin 25- Power ground
Are pins 13 & 25 the same thing? Does pin one just need a positive voltage when the nav /avionics is turned on? pin 16, is that required? all I want to do is have the minimal wiring to the transponder, any help would be appricated

I took the pin numbers right out of the instillation manual. There is also a photo of the socket. Thanks for the information. It is what I thought, but didn't want to blow anything up. There is an additional cable and plug with the wiring harness, but I figured it must be for other uses such as an altimeter or something.
