Hand Held Transceiver

I purchased  Yaesu FTA 550 transceiver for a backup radio. Do any of you have any experience with this radio? I can't get the squelch to work and need some advise

Should be the knob below the volume. Just twist it and it should change the level.

Let me back up a step. Right below the  PTT button is the SQL button. Push that  first then turn the knob below the volume knob.

Thanks  Chris that was it. I was turning the center knob!
