Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the controls installed in my 701 and everything is looking good. I have the newest CNC 701 fuse and the newer controls that come factory with the divorce mod.
I see on my plans there are turnbuckles about midway up the elevator cables running through the fuse with swaged eyelets and shackles.
I do not see, however, a specific length i am supposed to make the cable between the control horn/lever and the turnbuckle. Does it matter? is there a specific length?
I would imagine placing the turnbuckle closer to the cockpit hell hole would make adjusting tension and length easier.
Does anyone have a specific length they can recall making these cables?
Thanks,
Mike.

Hi Michael,
My turnbuckles are sort of centered in the hell hole, maybe a little towards the front. I think a few inches behind the aileron bell crank is good. Not too far back where the turnbuckles will bounce around. If you don’t get a definitive answer by Saturday, I can measure mine for you. I am intrigued to see what the divorced aileron system looks like.

Hi Michael,
This is my Divorced Aileron setup, for reference, the turnbuckles are somewhere just out of the frame to the left. Probably more cantered than I thought.

Thanks Perry!

Hi michael,
Could you do us all a big favor? can you post part numbers or snapshots of the plans showing the parts for the divorced
