I switched to EAA/Falcon last year, much more affordable than Avemco. Liability only on my Cruzer was $600.

Circling back after communicating with my broker re why six of seven companies she reached out to passed on covering my Zenith aircraft.  She told me it is the aircraft, not me. She didn’t offer any theories as to why, but below is her response to my question asking are we at risk of having no options someday?

”I don’t foresee a day where there will be no coverage available. However, what we have found is that when only one or two markets will write the insurance on a specific airplane, they tend to charge ridiculously high premiums because people stuck. I don’t think it would hurt to reach out to Zenith and make them aware of this. If no one ever speaks up, nothing can ever change. We work with 12 different markets so there are a few more that might be open to Zeniths that we don’t know of. I could reach out to those markets just to see if they do or don’t write Zeniths.”

So let’s share the names of the companies that are willing to bind coverage for our aircraft so others can seek them out and keep them willing to insure us.
