Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
Hi All
Has anyone designed and built leading edge wing tanks for the CH 601HD and if so what capacity have you made them.
Many Thanks

Hi Clive
Many Thanks for that info. Would you have an idea more or less what the length of the tanks are.
Requires the removal of one nose rib.
Zenith sells them. They are 22 liters capacity. I have one in each wing + 60 liters in the header tank. With the Rotax 80 hp engine it's a Bladder Buster" setup. I normally fly on the header tank with the right wing tank full to eliminate "heavy left wing" (or use the electric trim if tank empty) caused by the pilot sitting off centerline. Near the end of my flight I transfer the wing tank (header tank below 1/2) to the header tank. Its easier to fuel the wing tank than lift a gas can up for the header tank.
My 2 cents.
Thanks for thanks for the info Bob. I am wanting to make them about 50 - 60 liters each tank. I want to do away with having a header tank. Just cautious that the weight of that amount of fuel could be a bit heavy for the design.
