Has anyone built their own seats for their 650?  I am interested in knowing how you did it.  The interior kits are so simple, I'm wondering why we don't see more builder interiors?

One member over on the facebook group did on his 701, but that is what he specializes in. He has heated seats and adjustable Lumbar support.

I think those seats would be easier to self-build.  I'm building a 650 so the seat design is a bit more complicated.  There needs to be a seat pan that conforms to the airframe.  I'm struggling with how can that seat pan be built easy and light weight?

Maybe a carbon fiber or fiber glass? shape foam to what you like then layup fiberglass over it. Check out Mike Patey and his scrappy build, he is making carbon fiber seats.

Plan ahead, it’s worth the wait.
I have an aircraft upholstery shop in the next hangar, he was very impressed with the quality and said no way he could do that interior for the price I paid including shipping from Germany.
