What seems to be the preferred lighting package for the 750?  Are most builders going with the AeroLED's from Zenith?  Are most installing a tail light?

Bob,
Thanks for the response. I believe the stuff I have is aircraft quality.
Ed
Ralph,
Thanks for the reply. I believe it is cheaper from Zenith.
Ed
yeah ed, don't believe you need shielded wire either. low power, etc. not acting like antenna.
Ralph,
Thanks for the thoughts. Looks like most are using some sort of shielded wire, but it's probably not required?
Ed
Ralph, were the exp's more money?
I got the AeroLED lites through Zenith and they came with a wiring diagram. They suggested 18 gauge non-shielded and 4 wires (the 4th to syncronize the strobes).
Is anyone thinking about a landing lite?
Thanks,
Blaine
Blaine,
Thanks for the reply, I am actually thinking of driving down to the Zenith shop tomorrow to take a look at the landing light and do some ordering. I could order over the phone and save 5 hours both ways, but I like the chance to look in person and maybe get some more hints. I also need some L angle stock. I am still thinking or adding the tail light.
Ed
Ed,

Please let us know what you find out regarding the landing lights. I read where they can be mounted in the slat and come with a lens cover and mounting brackets. Is Zenith offering any OEM discounts for the AeroLEDs?

Blaine
Blaine,
I called Zenith and Roger was leaving for Sun 'n Fun, so my trip down will take place later. He did tell me that they had some pictures up on the site and I looked at them, but the picture of the lens in the slat is not too sharp, so I couldn't really tell how it fits exactly. It looks pretty good and the side view makes it seem that it shouldn't be too tough to install.

I believe that the Zenith price for the lighting package is less than if you got it from AeroLed directly. But don't quote me.

Ed
Ed,
Thanks for the update. I have looked at the AeroLED site and have not seen any mounting hardware for the 750 (no surprise). I expect Zenith will have that as a kit and I hope the pricing is reasonable. I have a friend that put a auto halogen light in the wing of his RV6 and it works fine so I am on the fence right now.
Blaine
Blaine,
Zenith has the mounting hardware for the wing lights, but not sure about the landing lights. The pictures on the website look OK?
Ed
