Jan, thanks for posting.   Where the batteries rated approx same Amp-hrs?  Dave

No Dave, the lithium is 12 amp hrs and the lead acid was 7 amp hrs The batteries were sized based in physical size and to be similar in weight. Lithium 3.75 lead acid 5.75. Hope that helps.

It does...thank you!  Again appreciate you posting your testing. Cheers!

For those interested in this topic, there is considerable discussion about the need for over voltage protection when using a lithium battery.

This has been discussed extensively on the Vans Airforce forum.   Essentially, it is highly recommended.   It gets a bit convoluted when realizing some folks use alternators with a just a single "B" wire, and some use alternators with external "IG" or "Field" windings wire - and with that begins the discussion of using a crowbar overvoltage protection on either the Field wire and or the "B" wire - which creates the ability, in most cases, to "trip" a relay to stop the alternator's ability to generate electricity at dangerously high voltage...

I encourage folks using Lithium batteries to educate themselves on this topic.

I am confident Jan will jump in here too and talk about Vikings approach to this.
