I could use some tips to help me located and buy an available - and affordable - Corvair engine (65-69) suitable as a core to be rebuilt as per William Wynn please let me know.
I did source a many import core parts from a supportive builder near me.. However I'd like to learn by tearing down an engine myself. I'd then have more parts to work with.
Corvair engines seem harder to find north of the US-Canada border. I am aware of a couple near me In Ottawa, but the owner wants almost $1000(US) for them. I am willing to drive somewhere to pry an engine out of car out back of someone's barn.
Has anyone bought a core unseen and had it shipped? Is this a valid and affordable option?
thanks,
John M

Hi John I have one posted in the classifieds.Call me 785 six two three 9 four 31 thanks Bob
I found an engine in a scrapyard in New England, but the delay and anticipated shipping was not working out. I then followed advice and got in touch with a couple CORSA Ontario members. Both super nice guys, with super cool cars. I had to drive 5 hours to Toronto (and then again back to Ottawa) but I now have 2 core engines. Thanks to everybody who contacted me.
