Is the carb brand new from the factory, overhauled at a local shop, or bolted into the plane in "as removed" condition when taken from a used plane?

William Wynne is now recommending only brand new factory carbs because he has seen so very many rebuilt carbs fitted with wrong jets and causing richness problems. And if your carb is "as removed" there could be all sorts of strange parts in it from over the years.

I am sorry that is not a specific answer but it's the best I can do. Good luck sorting it out. Supposedly that model of carb works perfectly in the Corvair conversion but that is assuming the carb is set up properly. Many carbs have been modified in the field over the years.
