Hi All,

First time poster & first-time airplane owner, and I could use some help with a question regarding paperwork.

I'm 3rd owner of a 2013 build 750 STOL (Built after Zenith increased Gross to 1440).  I'm trying to figure out where the Gross Weight Limitation should be annotated.  Here's what I DO have:

1. A weight and balance sheet with handwritten empty weights, for/aft CG (Top half filled out properly) and Gross Weight of 1440; HOWEVER, it is not the same copy that's on file when the builder submitted for Special Airworthiness.  That one is the same except no Gross Weight is listed.

2. A picture of the same weight and balance sheet from Pre-Phase I showing showing Gross Weight 1440 and useful load annotated.

3. An identification plate on the exterior of the aircraft that includes empty weight and gross weight of 1440.

4.  Standard logbook entry after Phase I: "The following aircraft operating data has been demonstrated during the flight testing: speeds Vso 31KIAS, Vx 53KIAS, Vy 55KIAS and weight 1225lbs and CG location 454.2 at which they were obtained."

There are no other operating limits identifying any limitations on weight, and it is not an LSA.

Bottom Line: I'm personally convinced the gross weight for my airplane is 1440, but how would an inspector feel about it?
