Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
I must say some of the worst instructions on this whole project to date are of the doors. Between the old pictures online contradicting themselves then lack of explanation! Then there's what to do when!!! I'm thinking how hard would it be to fix these plans instead letting builders head scratch and mistake their way to the end. Like don't rivet on the outside corner brackets until the bubble doors are installed! One sentence early on would be great! Yes you can see that on the future pictures but they show riveting them before you get there. How hard would it be to fix these plans? Should it be a forum we rely on to do what the company should do?? I found out what size rivets to use on the same brackets by what size drill bit to use on a later instruction. Its sad to emphasizes everything on sell rather than lets go back and update some instructions so builders of normal skill can complete their planes. I love building but simple up to date corrections would help everyone. Sorry I just had to vent on something that would be so easy to fix!
Written updates to plans and manual might reveal info you are looking for. My 701 plans were from circa 2003 with several volumes of updates since then. Ideally check for updates and mark up your drawings accordingly before starting work. Alternatively, if something does not seem to make sense, check the updates. Of course in later stages of the project there is less detail as the assumption is the builder has gained the skill to work with less.
