Max---

I would strongly recommend that you use something fireproof. The boot is mounted on your FIREwall. If you use a standard automotive part and then have an engine compartment fire, that boot will be gone in seconds and the flames and fumes will enter the passenger compartment. Either use a sliding metal seal or else try the fireproof boot from Aircraft Spruce. My suggestion...........
Hello Bob..
yu are absolutly right... this is why i'm asking here for some ideas about these boots
Sending yu my best regards

Have been on A/C Spruce store ...no pics on boots allowing me to see if can fit on my 701 steering rod
Tks all

Max--

Look at the thread titled "Steering Linkage Boots?" in the Zodiac forum section. There is a lot of information there, including pictures of a sliding metal seal that I think is much better than a boot type seal.
