use high compression pistons, now find 100LL from now on

use a higher rpm limit , I use 2800 (allowed  in pubs if digital tach)

I dont  know about vetterman benefit,  the zenith design seems ok for me

I would like to know if there is anyone in the group using Vetterman exhaust on the Continental O-200, to talk about the performance.

I rebuilt and hot rodded my O-200 about 4 plus years ago, have 300 hours on it.  I used 9:1 pistons, 1 E-mag and Vetterman exhaust.  I changed out the exhaust before others upgrades and that alone was a very noticeable power increase.   With the 9:1 I mix 100LL with about 50%  94 mogas(no corn added) with no issues.  At above 3,000 I have burned straight 94 with no issues but would never used that at full power.  I'm pretty happy with the engine except for the heavy weight making my plane for me a 2 seater but hard to travel far due to weight restriction.

Do you have a photo of your Vetterman exhaust installed? I’m curious if it is the crossover design, and if so how it clears around the carb on the 0-200. 

The Vetterman has a crossover that goes above the carb.  I installed it on my 601xlb but the factory cowling fits too tight and won’t go back on since it’s hitting the crossover tubes.  I don’t believe that you’ll have that issue in a 701/750 as the cowling doesn’t fit nearly as tightly under the prop.  If I can’t get the cowling figured out on my 601xlb, I’ll have a brand new Vetterman for sale.

What do you have the timing set at for the 9:1 pistons?
