Good afternoon people !!!

Has any O-200-A operator in the group already changed the cylinders to the most modern ones, making it possible to operate with 28º in the magnets ???

I'm also thinking of using pistons with higher compression, going from 7.0:1 to 8.5:1.

I appreciate any information.

When I had to do a prop strike inspection I made some mods to my O-200.  First was a Vetterman exhaust which gave a noticeable difference.  I did that before the prop strike.  Next I increased compression from 7:1 to 9:1.  It swallows lead better.  I also added a E-Mag and advance timing to 28 degrees.  I have new cylinders so was a no brainer to increase the advance.  It makes a major difference to performance.  Still not what a 130 HP would do but I like aviation engines with out reduction drives.

what was the first exhaust used Glenn? curious if vetterman really a big improvement over zenith O-200 exhaust.   more metal must at least be heavier

Hello christopher:
In my opinion, the difference between the Zenith and Vetterman exhaust is not that big, but for me, who is using a Cessna 150 exhaust (more like a tractor exhaust), the difference will be noticeable !!!
Good flights !!!

Hello Glenn!!!
