Hello everybody!

I am a Mexican national of Mexican-American descent living and working permanently in Ecuador. I was trained as an architect in Mexico, in Paris and at UT Austin. I did good work in Mexico as an architect I think, but I just love aviation too much! My "Terminator" is based at a flight school on a large military base in the Amazonian basin. Its “hard-nosed”, or blunt, or stout appearance derives from doors bowing out for elbow room, a large spinner, and a custom fiberglass nose cone with both radiators out in the propwash.

  • Full IFR instrument panel for a planned border-crossing flight to Cancún (but I really like “steam gages”, which I find easier to read than the smaller digital ones); vernier-lock throttle pilot side only; stick grip with 4-way “China hat” trim-and-flaps movements, PTT button; fuse rack; cabin vent bottom right, both sides. Note extra glass. Padded seat, fire extinguisher over factory location of flap handle (CH601 flap motor below left seat.) Rectangular-cross-section tunnel allows for elbow rest, intercom.

I await your commentary with utmost interest!

Francisco,

Your Terminator is a truly handsome 701. Had you posted this in the STOL CH701 Forum, more 701 builders will be aware of it. Welcome to the group (s).

At the 701 Forum, a number of members have been interested in modifying the roof for more head room and less drag. What have you gained with your raised roof so far? I also give it a thought about keeping the fire extinguisher bottle where the flap handle is but also love to keep the simplicity of the flap mechanism. From the cockpit photo, is your plane customized to fly from the left seat only?

I am rebuilding my 701 and hope to come out with a beautiful airplane as yours.
