Just got a 701 flying again after sitting in a hangar for years. Question I have before I reinvent the wheel, is there a known cure for the fusalage sheeting resonating?  Coming from a bonanza, its driving me crazy after one flight, gets pretty bad above 60mph. The sheeting is not real tight, and tapping one panel resonates thru the rest of them.

thanks in advance!

They tend to be noisy when shutting off the engine, if it's all the time then something is wrong causing the vibration. There are several ways to fix pending what wrong?

Oil canning can be cut down on by installing L angle diagonally between the vertical structure on the fusilage sides. you can see the rivet lines on the side of mine where the primer is. Dan.

i wish i would have thought about the noise sooner, would be hard to get the angles in now, unless I can get my kid to crawl back there.

Really keep the "Ball" centered is a good start, and then It doubles as my stall warning horn. It really is impossible to totally eliminate. .016 aluminum is the root cause.

I talked to Roger today, said it is just a normal thing. I epoxied and riveted angle brackets to each side and top/bottom, stretched a bungey around them in a diamond shape. will see if that helps any. I am used to the Bonanza and this is a different bird altogether.

I have a 750 version 2 and have the same 'oil-canning' noise. I willl try some bracing. and maybe some type of liner in the baggage compartment. let us know how things work for you as I too find it annoying.

I made small brackets that i epoxied and riveted in center of sheeting on all 4 sides just aft of access panel i stretched bungies to form a diamond and the tension eliminated 95% of the noise
