I now have 50 hours on my UL 350is and my oil temps. are running high so I purchased a
13 row Aero classic oil cooler from Ray and plan to install it while doing the 50 hour maintenance
as directed by the UL maintenance schedule. Pulled the cowl today and studying how to build
a new mounting bracket and I am just curious if others have changed to that larger oil cooler
and if it has made a significant difference? My plane is a stol 750. I talked to Roger at Oshkosh
and he indicated the oil temps. are good in their Cruzer with the same engine and smaller cooler.

Maybe you just need better airflow through the cowl. Make sure that the cooler is sealed off so air doesn't escape around it. Also make sure that your exit opening is adequate. Regardless how big the holes up front, if the exit isn't adequate not enough air will flow through.
Ken,
Thanks for replying - yes I sealed the cooler early in my testing, actually had it pretty good when
I installed the cowl and my exit opening is more than the original design. It cools down quickly
when I reduce the power so I’m fairly sure the air flow is okay and hoping the larger capacity cooler
helps at cruise. Just not so easy to fit it on.
