Does anyone have an opionion about the paint brand PTI that Aircraft Spruce sells? I'm about to order paint. I went to my local autopaint shop the other day and the local guy's price was 4 time as expensive as the PTI product.

Hi Dan i am looking at painting my 601xl with PTI paints, what have you found out? Is PTI paints good? how many gallons did you use? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Tim,
I bought 2 gallons, one of white and one of red, but only used about half of both of those colors. I also primed the plane with yellow expoxy primer. I guess it's good paint. I was disappointed with the paint job, but If there are issues it was with the painter (me). I wound up with a lot more texture than I'd like. It could have probably been thinned more than the instructions called for. One of my first disappointments was that Aircraft Spruce really only carries a few colors. I would have preferred a brighter red.
Good luck. Protect your lungs.
Thanks Dan for the info, when you say you got 2 gallons, was that 2 gallons of paint plus 2 gallons of the catalyst, which ends up making 4 gallons total?
