Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and hope to use an 0-200 for my 750 cruiser when I get it built. Has anyone tried the plasma electronic ignition from light speed engineering ? I was wondering how much if any weight it might save on the installation after removing the magneto system ?

After a quick internet search (nothing else to do on a cold windy day) I found from the Lightspeed website that their system weighs about 2.25 to 3.5 lbs. The magnetos for an O-200 will weigh between 7.5 to 12.5 lbs, depending on whether you have the new lightweight or old standard magnetos.
Just ballpark figures but maybe that will help.
