Hello, I am in the process of building CH701 with UlPower 260is. I am trying to match a perfect prop for this combination. From what I heard so far, the factory recommends a wood propeller. I am looking in to a composite prop from Whirlwind. Anyone here has this same airplane/engine combination? Any feedback, opinion and advice is appreciated. Thank you.

I recently bought a 701 with the 260i engine. It has a ground adjustable Whirlwind prop. The previous owner said he tested a few different blade angles and it is currently set to what he thought was the best compromise between climb and cruise performance. When flying it home, it "cruised" at about 68 mph at 2800 rpm. This plane has no strut fairings, bubble doors, larger main wheels. I haven't had a chance to test different angle settings. A ground adjustable prop is nice, you can set it to your needs.

Thank you for your reply. This is the prop I am also considering. I found a different company that make similar props to Whirlwind brand. It is NR Prop. Have you heard of them?

No, I hadn't heard of NR Prop. Went to their website to check them out. They are located in Kiev, Ukraine, so I expect they are "pre-occupied" with other concerns. Sorry for the bad joke, such a shame that a promising country gets overran by their neighbor.

I managed to buy NR prop before the war and I have it in my garage. It looks very professional and I am happy with this purchase. The plane is still in the garage under construction. I hope it will be finished this year.
