Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
Hi,
I was thinking recently of replacing the lead/acid battery with a LIFePO battery as a means of saving weight, my engine is a continental 0-200A with the early alternator and external voltage regulator any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
Regards,
Tom Carlin

Hi Tom,
I've been using the AeroLithium Aero680Li battery with my O-200A for over two years with no problems.

Thanks Dale for your reply, can I ask you were you able to retain the standard charging system or is there a different interface needed.
Best Regards,
Tom Carlin
I essentially kept the same charging system but in the process I realized the voltage regulator was not working so I replaced it with an automotive voltage regulator. It now is rock steady at about 14 volts.
