90 degrees apart, IMHO, it's OK. You can weld the first hole closed or simply leave it as is.

Many ways to look at issues such as this.

I had multiple parts and pieces I erred on and I threw them into the corner and ordered new.

The second time I did the part, I had learned from my first mistake and did it correctly the second time.

I did this to limit my potential to say "good enough".

I do not have parts on the plane compromised in this way.

In a practical sense, the steel tube is probably so strong the extra holes are of no consequence.

Your call.

I too have a few of those parts in the corner.
And yes, it did turn out better on round 2.
