Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
First of all, thank you for this forum. I recently received my new UL350is and am trying to wade through some of the hookups. One of them is the connector for the volt reg/rect which comes prewired with a harness. However the alternator also has three wires coming out of it which will reach the Reg. and could be fitted with a connector of their own without connecting to the prewired harness. Just seems like an extra connection to me. Anyone else also experience this??Thanks again,,Tom Sullivan

Tom, I saw the same thing. The alternator wires would easily reach the connector but it is already prewired. Went ahead and just spiced the wires together. Who knows may someday need the extra wire length.
Thanks for the picture. Are your wires out of the reg to battery 14 ga.? That's what's installed in my prewired connector. Doesn't seem large enough for the job.
Experienced same thing with my Jabiru. Bought a connector that would connect to the existing one. If regulator every needs replacing just unplug remove fasteners and install new one.
My engine came with a 3 wire connector and terminals so I guess I will wire it into the wire run so I can disconnect it easily.. Thank you.. Tom
