Hey guys I had a 701 for four years, it was very easy to fly. I sold that and bought a 601 XLb with the jabiru 3300. It seems that I need to use considerable more right rudder  input on the take off while I’m still on the ground to keep the plane on the centerline. Can anybody share their experience with this on the 601.

Have you checked the nose wheel alignment?

Im am gonna check the alignment this week. I am not the builder.....

My 601 XLB has a Viking 110 which turns counter clockwise from the seat, and I always need to have left rudder to keep it straight. It's going to depend on how your prop is pitched, LG placement, weight, etc.  I think all planes are going to be a little different. As long as it's not excessive or hard to control, I would not worry about it.

You could also check the engine offset, maybe the builder mounted the engine in-line with the fuselage or as Richard said the wheel/ rudder/rudder pedels all need to be centered...good luck ...BOB.

Does the 601 have nose wheel steering like the 701?
