Is anybody using the Sensenich ground adjustable prop on a Jabiru 3300 installed in A 601XLB? If you are what pitch setting did you use? and did you compare performance with the standard wood prop?

Thanks for any reply.

Hi Harry

I am using the same combinations as you but have yet to even run my engine. That being said, Sensenich recommend in their installation instructions an approximate setting of 4

Their are quite a few guys out their also with the same combo but flying. I hope they respond because I am also interested to see numbers.

Thanks Phill we have right at 98.5 hours with the wood prop hoping to get more performance out of the Jabiru the best we have got is 2850 rpm at 8000 ft. no wind.

Well good luck Harry.

The only negative info I have heard is from Pete Krotje who mentioned on the Jab 3300-601xl install video, that on their jabiru aircraft they actually loose 5 kt's by using the composite prop. Personally I cannot see how this is possible as the scimitar design is more efficient than a regular shaped prop and the carbon prop is slimmer also which should let it slip through the air with less effort as well. I'm no engineer but it would be the other way around. Even if it isn't a better performer, it sure is a nice prop to perve on.
