Shared Painting Info - Need Feedback on Idea

I think the shared info about aircraft performance and building options has been pretty successful and helpful so far.

Another topic I see frequently come up is how to finish or paint your Aircraft.

  • Vinyl versus Paint versus Polishing
  • What brand
  • Prime or no Prime
  • Surface Prep
  • etc...

Just considering making a separate share spreadsheet for this one.

I know most people are spending a lot of time flying or building, but it sure saves time being able to find the basic info in one place, and then branch out for specifics only if you can't find it here.

Let me know what you think about this fellow dreamers, builders, and flyers!

Just at the point of prepping / painting the Viking powered Super Duty

We are doing a combination gloss red powder coat on all parts that are smaller / accessible with a contrasting Dead Flat Rat Black urethane on the bigger parts.  

Made a rotisserie system today for the fuselage in order to etch / alodine / prime / paint  in short order over the weekend.  

Can post the process if anyone is interested

I would like to see the painting process. A picture of a wing Rotisserie and fuse would be nice. I am building a 650 and flying a 701.

As I am planning to build a Viking-powered CH-750 Super Duty, I follow everything you post about the progress on your 750 SD build (and the Viking Turbo 180 HP and 208 HP engines) with great interest.  I was hoping to make it to Sun 'N Fun 2018 to see your 750 SD, but that schedule isn't working out for me.
