It was 98 degrees here in Wisconsin yesterday - a little tough to go out in the hanger and work on snow skis.....I'm building skis for the CH750, and am wondering what is the typical weight increase when adding tire penetrating skis to the 750? Also, any operational advice you can give, would be appreciated from those of you who are winter ski users. Thanks!

Hi Rick,

I know Bob McDonald Zenith 750 Builder/ Flier in Ontario Canada has built them for his plane. He may be a good resource for you.

Good Luck...

Rick

The wheel penetration ski weigh in at 28 lbs each. Your adding weight...but your also not removing the weight of the tires and drag of the tires penetration through the skis into the snow. I am converting the wheel skis I already have to straight skis for deeper snow and with these skis I remove the weight of the tires. Very little effect on air speed with skis installed.

Bob, Leo,

Thanks for the input. I am building a slightly different ski - similar to the "Summit" brand ski (open behind the tire to reduce that amount of snow and slush that can collect on the top of the ski). I will have more questions when I get to the cables and set up. '

Thanks again
