Well I suppose we should all say a prayer he never closes shop permanently.  I searched around for quite a while and other than a random used one on eBay or a single very expensive certified one at Aircraft Spruce, I could not find another source.

Prices are very reasonable when you think of how much time it takes to make one of these. I got completely burnt out on building aircraft parts during my build. The mere thought of picking up a pair of tin snips is more than my feeble brain can deal with.

Just as a follow up, I got my access door from Experimental aircraft  accessories about 4 days after ordering it. The workmanship and precision is far better than I could do myself. Very happy with the company and product.

Hi Gary, 

out of interest, where are you adding them, and for what purpose? I am thinking of adding one down the tail, but haven’t got to that area yet so don’t know what shape is best. 🙏🏻

Tony I got one from them also and only took a week, put it to access the header tank behind the seat/ rear bulkhead on my 750 stol

I added lead ballast at the very rear of the fuse in my 601XL. The access panel allowed me to install it at the farthest point in the rear of the fuse, which I could not reach from the large tunnel access panel.

Hey Gary,

Thanks for that. Out of interest, how much weight did you add and how did youse use it? Did you make your own access panel or buy one from Experimental Accessories, with the surround? Which way did you cut the sheet please?
