Hi,

I’m processing to change my splices plates from 6061 T-6 to 4130N  in accordance with this design: http://www.zenithair.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/6v4-7new.pdf

As I read, the bolts used to fix these splices plates are AN type. This morning I read this topic in the 601/650 pre flight inspection which ask for 12 NAS6205 type bolts. http://www.zenithair.com/zodiac/xl/data/601XL-PRE-FLIGHT-INSPECTION...

Which is the good type. Is Nas type is mandatory?

Here is a link to a Ktiplanes article about bolts. It includes a comparison of NAS to AN.

Very useful, but why the specifications  are not the same between the splice plates update and the preflight procedure p. 46? And they figure 12 bolts on the preflight procedure but there is only 10 holes on the update 601 design with two sizes of bolts 3/8 and 5/16. Maybe the design on the 650 is quite different from the 601.

The preflight manual is for the xl so it's a completely different mounting setup. Use the info for the HD/HDS

It was my feeling.

Thanks !
