I had a "mishap" hard landing with my 601 and need to do some repairs to the firewall area. When I removed the engine a Viking 110, I noticed bushings on the bottom two mount 3/8 inch thick. With bushings the bolts are barely long enough. This would have raised the thrust line somewhat.
Does any one else have this and if I remove them what will be the handling difference?

Thanks

I have the Viking 110 and I had to shim the mount to get the thrust line correct with the plans, only needed a couple of washers. I think that it  is different on every plane. If it was flying correct before, and you are not changing the angle of the firewall, I would not change it. As long as you have at least 1 thread showing on the bolt, you should be good.
